Singoda shiro

Singoda Shiro is a pudding made from Singoda flour. Singoda is water chestnut. They have a distinct flavour and can be eaten during a Hindu fast. Here's how to make Singoda Shiro.

Gujarati Singoda Water chestnut Shiro Pudding Recipe

Ingredients:

4 tbsp melted ghee

1/2 cup Singoda flour

1/2 cup warm milk

1/3 cup sugar

1/4 tsp cardamom powder


Method

In a pan heat up the ghee and add in the singoda flour. Roast the singoda flour on a medium to low heat. The singoda flour will first be thick, then frothy then loose. It will also become fragrant.

When the mixture comes to the loose stage add in the warmed milk and sugar.

Continue to cook on a medium to low heat until the milk and sugar have been absorbed.

Finally add in some cardamom powder, mix and your Singoda Shiro is ready to serve.

This taste best warmed. Enjoy!
