Welcome to my creative page

On this page I will share some of the crafts that I do.

Lord Shiva Vintage Print

I have embellished a few vintage prints already and decided I wanted to do a few more. I ordered this vintage lithograph print of Lord Shiva online and here I will share the process on how I embellished it.

Shankar Bhagwan Lord Shiva Mahadev Vintage Lithograph Print

To embellish the print of Lord Shiva I have used rhinestone gems which I bought online. I have a range of colours, sizes and shapes. They are easily available online searching for nail art gems.
Tools I used: PVA Glue, ToothPicks, Wax Pencil, Tray, Rhinestone Gems

Firstly what I did was decide which area I was going to decorate first and what colour and size of rhinestone I would use. I placed them on the image without adding any glue just to see how it would look on the image. In the images above I stuck some light green gems on the outline of the sun. I placed some PVA glue onto the tray and used a toothpick to dot the outline of the sun and then I used a clean toothpick to take away any excess glue and to make the glue a thin line instead of dots. Then with the help of a wax pencil I picked up the gems and placed them onto the glue. While the glue was still wet I used a clean toothpick to move the gems in the position I wanted them to be in.

I did the same technique for the moon in Shankar
Bhagwan's hair using clear rhinestones. For the
Rudraksha beads I used brown rhinestones but I dotted
the glue onto the image only this time. I try not to use a lot of glue as I do not want to see any excess glue on the image after it has dried. I did not add many gems onto this image of Mahadev as I wanted to keep it simple. On the right is the final embellished image in a frame.
